Songs Without Words – Reviews of the Press

Staccatofy review by Steph Cosme:

Daum is a composer that focuses on creating clear melodies in a music setting that is full and entertaining. His guitar playing is solid throughout the album and he displays a wide range of techniques and playing styles. “Berlin Song” makes good use of the whammy bar for expressive purposes ala Jeff Beck.

Review by Rotcod Zzaj:

I give Gerhard a most highly recommended rating, with a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00… that means that he also gets my “pick” for “most expressive guitar album”.

Review by Kathy Parsons:

Songs Without Words in an incredible album that showcases the many “voices” of the electric guitar. […] Songs Without Words is a winner from the first note to the last!

Music.guide:

Daum weaves his way through twelve tracks of imaginative music, flawlessly produced and expertly engineered, showcasing his mastery of the instrument he holds dear.

Preview: New CD release “Songs Without Words” April 26, 2019

The new album Songs Without Words features contemporary instrumental music for the electric guitar. It is defined by an unconventional musical vision that combines jazz, classical, and electronic composing and performing styles.

I believe instrumental music brings together different cultures and connects with people. Here’s to music and compositions that decelerate our hectic and noisy world.

Stay tuned!
